Newfoundland’s Premier Photography Club

We are a vibrant community of photography enthusiasts and professionals dedicated to capturing the beauty of Newfoundland and Labrador as well as practising in all photography genres. With nearly 100 members in our club, our group of volunteers offer a platform for photographers of all skill levels to connect, learn, and grow.

Benefits of Membership

The club organizes regular meetings and arranges in-person photography outings in and around St. John’s throughout the year, as well as special events, such guest speakers (typically via Zoom), social gatherings, exhibitions, and photography trips. The club often has exclusive access to speakers, models, sites, venues, studios, and locations that would not otherwise be accessible to most individual photographers.

  • Bi-Weekly Meetings: Engage in discussions, share your work, and receive constructive feedback during our sessions held every second Wednesday at 7:30 PM. You will have the opportunity to enjoy other member’s photos, learn about their process, ask questions, make suggestions, offer their time as a volunteer, and learn, learn, learn.

  • Exclusive Outings: Participate in organized photography outings throughout the year, exploring diverse themes like landscapes, portraits, and macro photography. Enjoy access to unique locations and experiences.

  • Competitions: The club is a member of the Canadian Association of Photographic Arts (CAPA) and participates in CAPA’s themed competitions as a club. Showcase your talent in both national competitions and in-club contests. Camera 35 has achieved significant recognition in national competitions.

  • Guest Speakers: Learn from renowned photographers who share their expertise and insights, enhancing your photographic journey.
