Canadian Association for Photographic Arts (CAPA) Competition Submissions
A selection of images submitted by Camera 35 St. John’s members for CAPA competitions during the season indicated. These entries showcase talent in nature, fine art, portraiture, and creative categories, meeting CAPA’s standards for technical excellence and artistic impact.
Although the club does not have official records of award winners for the 2015-2016 competition year, it is important to acknowledge the exceptional photographic achievements of several members whose work received outstanding scores during that period.
Recognition is extended to Eric Bartlett (Focused) with a score of 27/30; and Sandy Spurrell (Twin Foxes), Karen Chappell (The Gift), Joe Chase (Splash), and Geoff Whiteway (Iceberg) with a score of 25/30. Each of these images demonstrated remarkable technical skill, artistic vision, and a keen eye for capturing compelling moments. Their high scores stand as a testament to their dedication to the craft and the strength of their photographic work.
While official awards from this period may not be recorded, the club celebrates and acknowledges the excellence of these photographers and their contributions to the photographic community. Their work continues to inspire and set a standard of quality that enriches the art of photography.
